Exploring How a Psychic Reading Can Bring Comfort and Closure After the Loss of Our Beloved Rescue Dog, Bailey

It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly two years since we said goodbye to our beloved rescue dog, Bailey. She wasn’t just a pet; she was my first dog, my confidant, my protector, and my constant companion. Bailey’s energy was endless; she helped me train for a half-marathon, and she had a way of welcoming every rescue dog we fostered into our home, showing them the ropes of a good life. When our children arrived, Bailey instantly became a loyal friend to them, showering them with kisses and love every single day.

Bailey’s final months were incredibly difficult. She began to limp, and after visiting a specialist, we learned she may have had cancer and could have required an amputation, chemotherapy, or other aggressive treatments that would have only bought her about a year of extra time. Jason and I made the heart-wrenching decision to let her live her remaining days in peace, even as we carried her up and down the stairs and managed her pain with multiple medications. On October 6, 2023, after one last walk around the backyard, we laid her to rest and let her go be with God.

Life without Bailey has been emptier than I could have imagined. Adding to the grief, when I retrieved her ashes, I discovered another dog’s paperwork at the bottom of the cremation box, leaving me with lingering doubts and a heavy heart. We do have a beautiful memorial to Bailey in our home, where we pray, talk, and remember her. Emilia often sits there telling Bailey how much she misses her. But as the second anniversary of Bailey’s passing approached, I realized I hadn’t felt her presence as much lately. I used to hear her walk down the hallway. I used to see her in my mind’s eye. I used to hear her bark at the delivery driver’s. I wanted reassurance. Was she okay? Was she pain-free? Did she forget about us?

I scheduled a California Psychics phone reading with Cain, extension 7683, and spent 22 minutes speaking with him. From the very beginning, Cain was calm, genuine, and honest. I asked him if Bailey was okay, and he shared that she is with an older couple, potentially great-grandparents, who are animal lovers and caring for her. Bailey communicated that she had pulled back from visiting because she felt my sadness and didn’t want to cause me more pain. Cain reassured me that this was natural and that I would feel her presence around the holidays. We used to celebrate Halloween together with costumes and trick-or-treating, and Christmas with fancy collars and pictures with Santa. He told me that when I feel her visit, to try to remain strong, as she picks up on my energy and doesn’t want to see me upset.

Cain even described details from our home, telling me Bailey comes to our bedroom on the right side, just like she used to when she would lick my right hand as I lay in bed. He explained her decline was irreversible, related to her brain and stomach, and that even if we had tried more aggressive treatments, it would not have helped. Importantly, he reassured me that I shouldn’t feel guilty about any decisions we made; we gave Bailey a life full of love and care.

One of the most comforting revelations was regarding Bailey’s ashes. Cain told me they truly were hers, which lifted a tremendous weight I’d carried for two years. Talking to Cain allowed me to process my grief, feel comforted, and find closure, especially as her second anniversary approached. His compassionate guidance reminded me that Bailey is at peace, being cared for, and waiting for me.

If you’ve ever lost a beloved pet and have questions about their well-being in the afterlife, or simply need comfort, I highly recommend speaking with Cain at California Psychics, extension 7683. The insight, clarity, and reassurance I received from him have been invaluable, helping me honor Bailey’s memory while finding peace in my grief.

Bailey may have only been with us for nine years, but her impact on our lives was immeasurable. I will forever cherish the love, joy, and lessons she brought into our home, and thanks to California Psychics Advisor Cain, (ext. 7683), I now carry her memory with a sense of comfort and connection that I never thought possible after such a profound loss.

BOOK REVIEW: One Dog’s Faith: How My Dog Helped Me Trust in God and Overcome Chronic Worrying by Tom Baker

Disclosure: This review contains affiliate links.

I love my dogs, Bailey and Gino. We rescued Bailey from Caring Canine Connections when she was 10 weeks old. She was a stray in a high kill shelter in North Carolina. (She was going to be euthanized over Thanksgiving.) Apparently, she was bitten during transport up to New Jersey, leaving a tear in her ear. Gino, my Chihuahua mix, was dumped out on the street. I went with volunteers from CCC to save 19 dogs from a high kill shelter back in July. Gino sat on my lap the entire drive back home. He looked at me with his big bug eyes as I whispered sweet nothings like “You are okay, little man. No one will ever hurt you again.” into his ears, which were drawn back and down. He was supposed to be killed over the Fourth of July.

I often say that my dogs saved me from myself. They have come into my life when I needed them most. Anxiety and worry are both useless emotions, but have overcome me when I was frantic about finances, health concerns, switching jobs, and finding work. I tried to tell myself that I was living the American dream, but some days felt like a true nightmare.

I received an autographed review copy of One Dog’s Faith: How My Dog Helped Me Trust in God and Overcome Chronic Worrying by Tom Baker. The book is written from his dog, Mango’s, point of view, which adds humor and lightheartedness to the story. Tom adds his perspective at the end of each chapter. One Dog’s Faith is a Christian book, and has several references to God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible. (As most of you know from my previous posts, I was raised Catholic, but do not practice. I consider myself more spiritual and believe in the religion of karma and being nice to others.) Since I love dogs and have been successfully managing my anxiety for ten years, I figured it would be a good read. It turns out, I really loved this book. I have many tabbed pages with important life reminders.

One Dog's Faith by Tom Baker

I interrupted Bailey during her nap to capture the perfect picture.

Tom Baker writes in One Dog’s Faith: How My Dog Helped Me Trust in God and Overcome Chronic Worrying:

“He [God] allows us to go through some pain in order to progress toward improvement. He sometimes has to hold us down in the middle of our misery to help us find our comfort and happiness. God sees the big picture and knows what’s best for each and every being.” (p. 114)

“Fear is powerful if you let it take over. Fear and faith can’t live in the same dog house.” (p. 168)

“Michelle just said, ‘Give it up…Give it to God…God will provide…God will make a way,’ And He always did, without fail. I saw it; she saw it.” (p 191)

One Dog’s Faith: How My Dog Helped Me Trust in God and Overcome Chronic Worrying is a feel-good book. It put many things into perspective. I used to come home from a long day at work and instantly start preparing for the next day. I would lay my scrubs out, prepare a lunch and start dinner, set the coffeemaker, pay bills, fold laundry, empty the dishwasher. I was going through the motions, preparing for something that wasn’t even guaranteed. My dogs would be begging for my attention, showing their gratitude and happiness that I was finally home. Now, when I get home from work, I drop my stuff on the table and sit on the floor to give them lots of love. I take them for a walk outside and smell the fresh air. I silently thank God for giving me another beautiful day and the opportunity to be able to come home from a day of work and spend time with my husband and furbabies. I learned to not take life so seriously. One Dog’s Faith offers perspectives that make you think about your life and how to improve upon your relationships with others, as well as God.

Gino with One Dog’s Faith by Tom Baker

Mango reminds us that dogs live for the moment. They don’t take things seriously. They are happy with very little, and that they truly value their time with us on Earth. I watch Bailey and Gino in awe. They, like Mango, have taught me to let go, trust God, follow instead of lead, and the true meaning of unconditional love.

Ruff Rescue Rope Review

If you look in my coat closet, you will see an arsenal of leashes. I have a leash for every scenario and size ranging from a 3-foot leather leash to a 100-foot para cord for when Bailey wants to take a dip in the water during a hike. Selecting a leash that “does it all” can be confusing, aggravating, and an expense!

Ruff Rescue Rope is the most versatile leash I have ever owned. Ruff Rescue Rope eliminates the hassle of tangled leashes and buying multiple accessories for your dog(s). One leash can do it all!

Ruff Rescue Rope

Ruff Rescue Rope offers:

  • 10-foot Multi-Function Leash (hands-free, slip lead, double leash)
  • 10-foot Multi-Function Leash  (hands-free, slip lead, double leash, harness)
  • Regular 10-foot leash
  • 6-foot Multi-Function Leash (hands-free, double leash, slip lead)
  • 6-foot hands-free leash (slip lead, hands-free)
  • Regular 6-foot leash
  • 6-foot Training Slip Lead
  • Multi-function harness (No-pull harness, traffic lead)

Ruff Rescue Rope

Ruff Rescue Rope gives back, too. For every 20 leashes sold, Ruff Rescue Rope pays the adoption fee for a dog out of the shelter and pairs them with a veteran suffering from PTSD or in need of a companion.

Ruff Rescue Rope

Ruff Rescue Rope leashes are made from rock climbing rope which is extra-strong, waterproof and durable. It will last more than twice as long as a regular leash.

Ruff Rescue Rope leashes are very easy to clean. Simply rinse the rope with warm water and swish it around in a mesh bag and continue to clean until the water is clear. Hang to dry away from sunlight and you’re ready to go!

Review

I received the Ruff Rescue Rope 10-foot Multi-Function Leash that transforms into a hands-free leash, slip lead and double leash. The price is $34.99 USD.

Ruff Rescue Rope is excellent; I loved using it as a regular leash, a slip lead, and a hands-free leash. Although I do have an arsenal of leashes, I did not have a 10-foot leash, which is perfect to practice recall and for hiking.

Ruff Rescue Rope

Ruff Rescue Rope is one of the strongest, most durable leashes I own. I would trust this leash over any others for intense hikes, walks, or runs. After a muddy hike, it was very easy to clean in a mesh bag.

I like how Ruff Rescue Rope is environmentally friendly, too. You can learn how to adjust the leashes by watching the tutorials. I am not an auditory/visual learner, but it was fine since I could pause and replay as much as I needed.  I also came up with my own hands-free, double leash creation. The Ruff Rescue Rope is easy to adjust and change from one leash setting to another.

Ruff Rescue Rope

I would strongly recommend purchasing a leash from Ruff Rescue Rope. Not only will you thoroughly enjoy your leash, but you will help a dog get out of a shelter and go with a veteran. Thank you, Ruff Rescue Rope!

Make sure you follow Ruff Rescue Rope on Facebook and Instagram.

Pet Grief Relief – a Program to Cope with the Loss of a Pet

I am fortunate enough to say that I have never lost a pet. Okay, I lied. I forgot that I lost Chet, a Black Moore Goldfish that I had for two years while I was in grad school. He knew the sound of my voice and slept on the left side of the fish tank, right next to my bed. Even though he was a goldfish, I was sad he was gone. He was my study buddy, and always followed my finger outlining his tank.

Almost ten years later, I entered the rescue world, filled with dogs that are sick with viruses and mothers giving birth to stillborn puppies. Those rescues are the hardest, because you do everything in your power to save the dog’s life, and they just don’t pull through. Pets, whether they are with us for one hour during a rescue transport, or fifteen years, become a part of us. They become a part of our lives. Sometimes, we love them more than our human counterparts. How do we cope with losing them?

Most pet owners know that their animals won’t outlive us, and we don’t even think about how to prepare for the death of a pet. If you type “pet loss” or “pet grief” into a search engine, you will find some articles, but there are little to no resources to help you cope with your loss.

The last post on Realm of Vibes, 10 Ways to Cope with a Pet Loss, was written by Kelly Catalano, who created the Pet Grief Relief Program. I am fortunate enough to review Pet Grief Relief to help spread awareness about this program to help people cope with the loss of their pet.

About Kelly Catalano

Kelly Catalano is a gifted Spiritual Teacher, Master Energy Healer, LOAC Life Coach/ Prosperity Guide, Holy Fire Reiki Master Practitioner/ Instructor, & EFT Specialist. Talking to her is like talking to a cool, calm, and collected older sister. Even though I’ve spoken to her for a few weeks, I feel like I’ve known her for years.

Several years ago, her family’s 8-Year-Old Italian Greyhound, Chloe became ill. Chloe’s diagnosis was terminal, and a difficult decision had to be made to either prolong the inevitable or put Chloe to sleep. Kelly and her husband did not want to see Chloe suffer, so they wound up putting Chloe to sleep.

Words can’t express how they felt. Putting their beloved dog to sleep took an emotional, physical, and mental toll, as they were not eating, sleeping, and replaying the series of events in their heads over and over and over again.

They found a video for grief of a loved one using Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), which is a combination of acupuncture, energy medicine, thought field therapy (TFT), and psychotherapy. After two 15 minute sessions, Kelly and her husband felt calmer and more relaxed. She created the Pet Grief Relief EFT Tapping program to help pet owners cope with the loss of a pet.

Pet Grief Relief Program

Pet Grief Relief is comprised of 3 tapping scripts, the first to help heal grief, the second to relieve the guilt, and the last to pave the way for healing and recovery. A bonus EFT tapping script for stress around the illness or failing health of your pet. With the purchase of your program, you will receive access to the Rainbow Bridge guided visualization designed for you to energetically connect heart to heart with your pet on the spiritual plane.

Some of you may be wondering, “what is tapping?” I thought the same thing. Tapping is just that, tapping, specific pressure points while repeating statements and allowing yourself to really feel emotions. Tapping frees you from limiting beliefs, fears, traumas, old memories, and blocks in your subconscious mind. Tapping allows negative emotions to dissipate, and for you to feel more relaxed and calm.

EFT

EFT Tapping calms the sympathetic nervous system and works similarly to acupuncture. EFT and Tapping are non-invasive and only requires your time.

Program Options

Pet Grief Relief

Program #1: PDF Download, $97 USD

Program #1 is a fantastic option for those who can read and follow a script telling you where to tap. Perfect for solely visual learners.

Pet Grief Relief

Option #2: Audio & PDF Download, $147 USD

This is an upgraded option where you can follow Kelly’s soothing voice while following the script on a PDF. Perfect for auditory learners.

Pet Grief Relief

Option #3: Video & PDF, $197 USD

This is the program I received complimentary. This option you follow the EFT Tapping Scripts with Kelly in video format. I would prefer this option over all of the others since I am a visual kinesthetic learner. I learn by seeing and doing.

Review

I first started by reading through the PDF which explains the Pet Grief Relief program, the story of how Pet Grief Relief came about through Kelly’s personal story, information and the different components of EFT, a diagram of the tapping points, and Kelly’s background information and credentials. You click on a link and are given a password to access the Pet Grief Relief Tapping videos.

The four Pet Grief Relief Tapping videos:

  • Pet Grief Relief Tapping for Grief
    • to help heal grief
    • Example: “This pain in my heart is overwhelming me” while tapping collar bone
  • Pet Grief Relief Tapping for Guilt
    • to help heal guilt
    • Example: “I have lost so much” while tapping side of eyebrow
  • Pet Grief Relief Tapping for Healing Recovery
    • paves the way for recovery
    • Example: “Maybe I can move forward in a way that feels safe…while still honoring my pet” while tapping under eye
  • Pet Grief Relief Bonus Tapping for Stress
    • designed to calm the stress and helplessness you may feel about your pet’s health and well-being
    • Example: “I am sad for my pet’s health” while tapping side of eye

Each tapping video is 7.5-9 minutes long and can be repeated as many times as needed.

Kelly starts each script with deep breathing. She encourages you to alter the script to your feelings and/or needs.

I find Kelly to be very calming and soothing. Her voice is relaxing and she makes me feel safe.

Rainbow Bridge Meditation: This ten-minute meditation is to connect with your pet on a spiritual plane. Kelly guides you through a box breathing segment, and then a meditation that you just can’t help but to feel extremely relaxed and calm. I’m not going to lie, I cried. When Kelly said, “Suddenly, here comes your pet over the Rainbow Bridge. Your pet is full of joy…You embrace your pet…” Oh. My. Goodness. This is a beautiful guided meditation that you could repeat over and over again to really spend time with your pet on the other side. I think that when pets pass, they are truly happy.

My thoughts: After each video segment, I felt like a different person. I love how Kelly integrates finding a comfortable seat, breathing, tapping pressure points with mantras that can help you cope with the feelings of losing a pet. I like how I have the option to stop and rewind the videos and access them at any time. Kelly always ends on a positive note and tells you how many times to repeat the script before moving on to the next one.  It isn’t time-consuming, and all you need is to have a place to sit and your computer. I recommend a quiet area that you can really relax and pay attention.

I have started integrating tapping during my morning meditation with statements such as, “I am strong.” and “I am going to have a good day, despite any challenges that get in my way.” I am a true believer in the EFT Tapping technique after following the Pet Grief Relief program.

Make sure you visit Pet Grief Relief on Facebook and Instagram. Don’t forget to share the Pet Grief Relief program, for it can be a fantastic resource for those dealing with the loss of a pet.

10 Ways to Cope with Pet Loss

by Kelly Catalano, Master Energy Practitioner/Healer, Creator of Pet Grief Relief

Anyone who has had a pet transition can find it challenging to cope with the heart break, intense pain and emotional chaos. No matter what type of pet you owned, coping with the grief of losing it is an intensely personal process.

In order to understand how to process the grief, let’s briefly review the five stages of grief.

grief

You may move through these stages very quickly or linger in each stage for a prolonged period of time.

Pet grief is very dynamic and often misunderstood. The pet owner can be shocked by the intensity and emotional turmoil associated with the death of a pet. When the brain experiences emotional trauma it takes just a few seconds for an emotional response to kick in and become associated with it. That is why when we recall the memory, we get an emotional response no matter how much time has passed. The more physical response tied to the memory, the harder it is to release it.

The longer we hold on to emotional anguish, the more we poke it, prod it, recall it and relive it, the more embedded the detrimental emotions become.

How Grief Works

Our emotions become a tangled-up mess we are unable to process, let go of and hold us hostage in a time and place we no longer wish to be in.

They say time heals all wounds but in reality, in order to heal and recover we have to actually release the emotions tied to the memory from our body. There are a variety of ways to accomplish this. They are all safe, effective and work relatively fast.

As a master energy practitioner/ healer here are my favorite ways to help clients release pet grief.

  • EFT tapping…Emotional Freedom Technique
  • Distance Reiki
  • Chakra Clearing
  • TAT…Tapas Acupressure Technique
  • Guided visualization to connect with pet heart to heart on the spiritual plane

These techniques work all the time. No need to believe to receive.

grief2

In the meantime, here are 10 coping methods I find work well to start on the path to healing and recovery.

  • Take as much time as you need to grieve. Only you know what is best for you. Don’t let others dictate your feelings. Honor how you feel and the life of your pet in a way that celebrates your time together.
  • Be open to how you experience grief. Trying to repress feelings causes more stress and anxiety than expressing them.
  • Express your grief in a way that allows you to honor your pet’s life. Write a poem, a letter to your pet, create a memory book. Engage in a positive activity that will move you forward.
  • Have a memorial service for your pet or create a memorial for your pet. Celebrate your pet’s life in a way that makes the most sense to you.
  • Find your tribe. Connect with others who understand how you feel. There are many support groups on social media or locally to help you through this challenging time.
  • Get involved. Help organize a pet food drive. Volunteer at an animal shelter. Offer your support to someone else.
  • Write it out. Keep a journal. Journaling allows you to express and work through your feelings in a safe private nonjudgmental way.
  • Get professional help if and when needed. Use a program like Pet Grief Relief to help process, find relief, heal and recover. While intense grief is normal and natural, experiencing prolonged grief, sadness, anger, and depression is a sign more help is needed as well as lead to physical illness.
  • Ease into a new routine. Join a gym, take a class, engage your brain and time toward a new learning activity.
  • Be easy on yourself. No matter how your pet transitioned, your pet loves you unconditionally and knows you always had their best interest at heart. Our pets are always with us on the spiritual plane looking after us. They are always available to connect through visualization or meditation from their new state of being.
