Our daughter, Emilia, first discovered Loops Lab while attending Sweet Suite, and it quickly became one of the highlights of the event. She was fascinated by the idea that she could become her own DJ simply by placing different characters onto a stage to create original songs. Since Emilia takes weekly piano lessons and has always loved music, collaborating with Loops Lab felt like the perfect fit for our family.

What Is Loops Lab?
Loops Lab is an innovative hands-on music creation platform that allows kids (and adults!) to become DJs by mixing beats, vocals, instruments, and sound effects.
Instead of simply pressing buttons, children use collectible figurines that each add their own musical element. Every time a new character is placed on the stage, the song changes, allowing endless combinations and completely original music.
It’s a wonderful blend of music, creativity, technology, and imaginative play.
One thing to know before getting started is that the Loops Lab app is required to unlock the full experience. The app connects everything together and allows kids to build, customize, and enjoy their own unique music creations. We downloaded the Loops Lab app on our family Ipad and personal cell phones.

We received the Loops Lab Starter Kit, along with several fun additions that expanded our music collection even more.

The Loops Lab Starter Kit includes everything you need to begin creating music right away.
Inside you’ll find:
- The Loops Stage
- One collectible band – the Lax Funkers, a Chili Funk band
- Everything needed to start mixing songs within minutes
Setup was quick and simple, and Emilia couldn’t wait to begin experimenting with different sounds.
Space Mariners Band
We also received the Space Mariners band which is a five-piece crew featuring thunderous drums, driving bass, soaring synths, electric leads, and contagious vocals.
Each member contributes different musical sounds, allowing kids to layer instruments, vocals, beats, and effects into completely unique songs.
Watching Emilia discover what each character added to the music was one of my favorite parts. She loved testing different combinations to hear how every song changed.
Bloop Solo Character
One of Emilia’s favorite additions was Bloop.
Solo characters add even more customization and help expand your music library. It’s amazing how just one new character can completely change the feel of a song.
Loops Glow
Another fun accessory we added was the Loops Glow.
The colorful lighting creates an exciting concert-like atmosphere that makes music sessions feel even more immersive. Emilia especially loves using it when she wants to put on a “performance” for our family.
Why Emilia Loves Loops Lab
As a mom, I love finding toys that encourage creativity instead of passive screen time.
Since Emilia already plays the piano every week, Loops Lab has become another fun way for her to explore rhythm, beats, and music in a completely different way.
There’s no right or wrong answer.
Every song is unique.
Every combination creates something new.
Instead of following instructions, she’s experimenting, listening, creating, and expressing herself through music. It’s been wonderful watching her confidence grow as she discovers new sounds and proudly shares the songs she creates.
Em loves mixing the band players and recording songs. I’ve even noticed she will put a beat together and add her own lyrics, which has been really cool to witness.
One of my favorite parts has been creating music together. We’ve laughed while making silly songs, challenged each other to create our favorite mixes, and even had little dance parties in our living room.
It’s become more than just a toy, and it is a family activity that brings us together.
